UI Dance Marathon Partners with Heartland Soles and Colony Pumpkin Patch for 5K and

Family Fun Run, Miles in the Maize

NORTH LIBERTY, IA — Saturday, November 3 at 9 a.m. at the Colony Pumpkin Patch, the
University of Iowa Dance Marathon (UIDM) will partner with Heartland Soles and Colony
Pumpkin Patch to host a 5K and Family Fun Run event, Miles in the Maize.

“Miles in the Maize is unlike any event that the Iowa City area has seen before. There will be a
5K through a corn maze, a family fun run, activities at the pumpkin patch and much more! This
event is a great place to have fun with your family and friends while supporting children and
families who are being treated up in the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital,” said Darby
Drenzek, Outreach Director for Dance Marathon 25.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the University of Iowa Dance Marathon, which raises
money for emotional and financial support of pediatric cancer patients and their families who are
being treated at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

Registration fees for the 5K are $35 per participant through October 20, and then late registration
is $45. The Family Fun Mile is $10 per participant, and after October 20, late registration is $15.
Participants can register as a team of five with each team member paying $15 through November
1. The registration link can be found on UIDM’s Facebook page, and the first 100 to register will
receive a $10 gift card to Heartland Soles Running & Walking Store.
