Dance Marathon Women and Men’s Basketball Home Opener Event
On Friday, November 13th, the University of Iowa Dance Marathon will be partnering with the women and men’s basketball team to spread lime in Carver Hawkeye Arena. The Dance Marathon supporters will watch the Iowa women play against North Dakota at 6 p.m., tailgate in the Carver Hawkeye Arena parking lot between games and then head back into Carver to support the Iowa men’s basketball team in their game against Gardner-Webb, which begins at 8:30 p.m.
Dan Kolb, Executive Director of Dance Marathon 22, stated, “I think this event is successful because it brings two organizations on campus together, the Dance Marathon and University of Iowa Basketball, to help raise awareness for Hawkeye fans across the state regarding pediatric cancer and the great work done at the University of Iowa assisting those families affected by this terrible disease.”
So far, 780 Dance Marathon members have signed up to participate in the home opener event. However, all University of Iowa students are encouraged to participate in the event as well. Dance Marathon is providing free food at the tailgate for all students who sign up as well as free tickets to both the women and men’s games.
Kolb also stated, “In addition to how fun this event is, it’s great for Dance Marathon to have such amazing support from Head Coaches Lisa Bluder and Fran McCaffery. This event will be a great way to kick off the Iowa basketball season.”
This is an annual event to fundraise and raise awareness for the University of Iowa’s Dance Marathon. If inquiring any additional information please contact Dan Kolb at email@example.com.
