UI Dance Marathon 23 Goal Reveal Celebration
IOWA CITY, IA - The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is currently 132 days out from the Big Event on February 3rd & 4th, 2017. To celebrate this and to provide their members with even more ambition, passion, and hope for those days, they announced their goal fundraising amount for this year on Friday afternoon. UIDM 23’s fundraising goal is $2,758,511.23 FTK!
Executive Director Morgan Kennedy and the rest of the leadership team is confident that the efforts of the thousands of University of Iowa students involved in this organization will allow them to reach this goal.
“This number is not about raising more money than last year,” says Kennedy. “This number is what our families need, and that’s why we’ll reach it.”
Recruitment pushes, campus awareness, new leadership opportunities, and the Organization Delegate Program are just a few ways that Dance Marathon is working year-round towards their goal, paving a road that will lead to a successful and inspiring Big Event.
In the 22 years since its conception, UI Dance Marathon has raised over $18.9 million to help kiddos and their families as they continue to face their fight against pediatric cancer. This momentum is significant, but there is still a long road ahead. UIDM is excited to see its dancers, leadership members, community members, and external partners rise to the challenge and see the tote board on February 4th read $2,758,511.23 FTK!
