Dear Dancers,

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the University of Iowa’s Dance Marathon! UIDM is the largest student-run organization on campus! As a dancer in this organization, you have the opportunity to support families around Iowa that have been impacted by pediatric cancer. This support is not only seen through financial contributions in the form of fundraising, but also through emotional support, as well.

Throughout the year, you will be challenged to raise a minimum of $300 for the kiddos. Meeting this fundraising minimum also serves as your ticket into the Big Event on February 7th and 8th! Dance Marathon recognizes that this fundraising contribution may seem intimidating, but we are all fundraising together, so you are never alone! You will join a group of other students that will help you to not only reach your fundraising goal, but go above and beyond for our families! Dance Marathon promises to provide ample fundraising resources and opportunities that fit your individual needs as a philanthropic student on campus. The Big Event is a 24-hour celebration to recognize the kiddos who have won their battle against cancer, stand by those who are still fighting, and honor those who will be forever Dancing in Our Hearts. This event recognizes the culmination of a year’s work, but there are also several other events throughout the year to learn more about Dance Marathon, meet other students in DM, help with fundraising, and connect with our kiddos and families.

This year is especially exciting because we have switched to a new website that makes it easier to personalize your donation page, promote your fundraising, and connect with other dancers. When you register, you will be able to select a Miracle Group number. You can join a group with friends, or you can pick any group and have the opportunity to make new friends! You can also learn more about the captains and different groups here. Once you have completed the registration process, your captains will email you with information on how to begin fundraising! Your captains will be your best resource for information about events happening within the organization and to answer any questions or concerns you may have. All of DM leadership is here to support you in any way throughout the year and during the Big Event.
