Interest in running with Dance Marathon?

Dance Marathon is accepting runner applications through May 31, 2024. If you have interest in running, please fill out our interest form. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Runners that register before November 16, 2023 (early bird registration) are committed to fundraising $1,250. Runners that register after December 7, 2023 are committed to fundraising $1,750. All runners must fundraise a minimum of $900 by October 1st to be eligible to run the marathon. All runners must be approved and register for the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon before June 1st. All runners must register and fundraise through the UI Dance Marathon 31 DonorDrive website.

What is Dance Marathon the Marathon?

Dance Marathon the Marathon (DMM) is a marathon training group with the sole purpose of completing the Bank of America Chicago Marathon while raising money, awareness, and promoting the ideals of Dance Marathon. Runners who complete the training program and raise their funds will also have complete access to the Big Event.

Our Purpose:

This group aims to create new friendships, build links between students and faculty, community, and alumni, raise awareness for the largest philanthropy at the University of Iowa, and raise significant funds for Dance Marathon. It is commonly said that there is no greater challenge to the human mind and body than running a marathon and this race remains the ultimate symbol of achievement.
