Almost one year ago, Dance Marathon 26 began and vowed to deliver more miracles to the families and children across the river. The vision for this year morphed into a fight. Dancers, leadership members, donors, volunteers, and supporters have joined in on a fight against pediatric cancer.
Every day, 43-children are diagnosed with cancer. Though the Big Event is just a short two weeks ago that is fourteen days that families will receive the worst news of their life. Statistically, that means 602-families will face the financial and emotional nightmare that cancer brings within the next two weeks. And even after the Big Event is over, families will continue to hear this life-altering news.
Dance Marathon means delivering miracles to these families. Miracles that can be as simple as a warm meal or as groundbreaking as a new hospital wing at Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Regardless of where donations are allocated, every single dollar creates a sense of relief and lasting impact. And with two weeks left of Dance Marathon 26, it’s time to deliver even more miracles.
So, what more will you do?
Tomorrow morning when you wake up and check social media, let your friends know why you are fighting for our families. As you respond to emails, send out five more explaining how others can join our fight. And despite the cold and the snow, trek outside with your friends to go canning one more time and show the community your commitment to this organization.
The fight is not over yet. And it will not end in two weeks. Use your voice and your impact to deliver more miracles to families who should not fight alone. And when the final tote board is shown, feel deep in your heart that you have fought as hard as you can to change lives.
