Hi everyone! I’m Emily Pavlik, the Creative Director for Dance Marathon 33. I’m a journalism major with a focus in multimedia and design, and I joined Dance Marathon my sophomore year because I saw the impact this organization can make. When I came to the university, I loved waving to the kiddos on Level 11 during football games, but I kept wondering how I could do more. Through Dance Marathon, I’ve seen how impactful the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital is on our campus and the difference students make both in and outside the hospital. In Dance Marathon, we have the opportunity to connect with families at events, attend high school and elementary Mini Dance Marathons, and come together in February for our 24-hour Big Event. It’s a privilege to serve on the executive council this year, and I can’t wait to meet more families and continue making an impact.

Dear Dancers, 

Dance Marathon is a place for everyone, no matter your major, passions, or future aspirations. We give students a space to feel accepted and valued. The best part about Dance Marathon is that although everyone may have joined for different reasons or have different stories, we all come together with a shared goal: to fight for more than 4%. If you’re thinking about getting involved, do it. It truly has the power to change your life, I know it changed mine.
