The Empowerment Team is a peer network made up of leadership members and dancers who serve as advocates for Inclusion and Opportunity within their respective committees. Their role includes attending a monthly 1-hour meeting focused on education and open conversation around topics related to identity, access, and belonging.

Empowerment Team members are expected to take what they learn in these sessions and apply it within their committees, challenging assumptions, fostering respectful dialogue, and helping UIDM become a more welcoming and aware community.

By participating in the Empowerment Team, members will gain a deeper understanding of systems of access, identity, social values, and the impact of personal and group experiences. They will also develop skills in active citizenship and self-awareness that extend beyond UIDM.
